Want a way to save money on taxes AND help the economy climb out of the recession? The state of Texas has implemented the Enterprise Zone Program (EZP), a sales tax incentive created to help firms grow and expand their businesses in Texas. How? The EZP encourages hiring new and retaining old employees and offers a state sales tax refund, ranging from $2,500-$7,500 per job created and/or retained.

Recently, we posted a blog entry about Don Thomson, Co-Founder of Sage Accpac ERP, that referred to his own blog about improving the speed of Accpac. He recently wrote a follow-up entry about faster Accpac performance where he said:
"...here's a quick tip: review Accpac's recommended database settings and make sure that the server and workstations are in compliance before thinking about hardware solutions.
How fast can Accpac run with a solid state drive? Will Accpac be 3 times faster if you replace a spinning platter drive with a solid state drive? My answer would a highly qualified yes. you can buy a solid state drive for $130 to $400." Read More...

McAfee recently did a new study on the riskiest domains around the world called "Mapping the Mal Web." It should be no surprise that the most popular domain, ".com," is also the riskiest, followed by ".net" and ".org."
However, Cameroon's ".cm" is THE riskiest domain, as it is a common admin error for ".com" and has thus been taken advantage of by cybercriminals scamming people. According to Mike Gallagher, CTO for McAfee labs, "cybercriminals target regions where registering sites is cheap and convenient and pose the least risk of being caught."
After Cameroon, China and Samoa are the next riskiest. The safest domains are governmental ones, ".gov," while Japan's ".jp" ranks higher than education's ".edu."
So if you want to make sure you are dealing with a legit business, first look at the URL to determine the level of risk associated with the domain name.
