You may be ready to move to a new accounting system. The right accounting system can translate to significant productivity gains through automation of manual tasks, improved decision making with real-time reporting and visibility and a strong foundation to support your business growth.  Make sure you chose the right accounting system for your business.productive Intacct worker

How to Make the Most of Your Accounting System

Posted by Meredith Gooch on Thu, May 14, 2009

There are many things that your current accounting system can do aside from its core intended purposes. For example, accounting software allows the setup of managing recurring tasks, thus saving you time by eliminating duplicate data entries.

Accounting systems also have many ready-made reports. Look at them and pick out those that work best for your situation. You will find that they ease much of your pain at year-end. If your ideal report is not available yet, you can simply create one by using reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access, or Microsoft Excel.

Finally, accounting software can be used for marketing purposes. Many accounting systems allow some sort of customization of invoices and other documents, allowing you to include a custom message in every invoice or other document sent to a customer. For example, you could use this option to announce promotions or to invite your clients to special events. This will enable you to maintain good relationships with your customers.
