Important Notice - U.S. Payroll Tax Update

Important updates to tax withholding and magnetic media changes will be required for some states, along with a new federal Form 941 that will affect some businesses. Sage incorporated these changes into the Sage ERP Accpac March 31, 2011 updates, which will be available to download as of March 24, 2011. The following versions will be available:

US Payroll Customers: version 5.5M, Version 5.6I, Version 6.0D

In order to download the update, you must have a current Payroll Update Plan (PUP) or be a Priority Software Support (PSS) subscriber as of the tax table effective date. PUPs are only available via download.

Sage Accpac ERP Tax Update Information

The next tax update is scheduled to release mid-December. With that in mind, here are a few things to consider when doing the tax update:

  • You don’t have to close the year.
  • It is recommended that you install the tax update as soon as possible. It can be installed before the end of 2010.
  • You have to install AND activate the tax update.
  • Make a backup before you activate the tax update.

If you are currently running Sage Accpac ERP Version 5.4 and you plan on continuing to use the payroll module in 2011, give us a call to plan your upgrade to 5.5 or 5.6 because Sage will no longer provide the updates required for calculating 2011 payroll for version 5.4 going forward. They will only provide updated forms for 2010 tax filing.
